I Bought a new scanner....finally

....An Epson Work Force 7520, with an 11x17" scanning bed. It's about damn time. Soooo, that means I have no more excuses for not posting more art. Here's some now: A piece I did for Koyama Press of their "Kick Ass Annie" Logo character a late submission for the awesome Josh Bayer's "Suspect Device" issue 2.

This is a piece of fan art for the amazing Matthew Allison of http://loafdish.blogspot.com fame. It's Cobraxe. Duh.

Redrawing old horror comic covers is the best art school I can think of...

Finished my drawing for my friend Robert, in exchange for a scanner, in pretty quick fashion. Really like how it came out, especially the texture of the face.

A prelim drawing for SF favorite hardcore band Alcatraz's Japanese tour T-shirt.

My piece for Jimmy Geigrich's art zine "Bits In Multiple Of 8" which is devoted to vintage home console video games. This is NARC, Nancy Reagan's favorite arcade game.

Perverts are my bread and butter.

July 5th Update

My scanner is down so I haven't posted anything in a while, but I have been hard at work to meet my Comic Con International deadline. Here are some pics of my cluttered drawing table:

Misc. Drawings

A pin-up for a comic called "Handsome". I have a tendency to just draw the ugliest people I can, John-Merrick-level ugly. I have been doing this as far back as I can remember, and my sketchbooks are a testament to this fact. I guess it was all those old Mad magazines and Basil Wolverton drawings.



I wanted to draw Marvel Comic's Thor as if he was a big Nordic Black Metal lunkhead. Also, the Loki head behind him looks more like a sinister elbow tumor.

A Preview of Honky Tonk Blues from Hot Fog #1

These pages are actually NOT the finished product, but rather rough guides for the ink-wash technique I wanted to try for this story...these pages aren't even finished, but I decided to copy the rough pencils and then did the wash right on top of the xeroxed pages...I am intrigued by the result, especially with how it compliments the tone of the story, but I have yet to decide what the final product will look like...I decided to post it here as a sort of "behind-the-scenes" thing.

HOT FOG

...Despite the fact that I recently found out there is a local band with the same name, I still plan on having HOT FOG be my place to focus on unique and experimental stories, things that don't fit into the FEROCIOUS universe and where I can feel free to do whatever tickles my fancy.

I will be using this blog in the near future to preview pages from the book...any and all honest opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Ghost Punch Preview

Hey, I just thought I would post the painting I did for the Ghost punch cover. It is actually the second version of pretty much the same image, but this one is a lot cleaner. The comic should be out in February, and is the first chapter of my FEROCIOUS comic.
